Traffic Violations

Upon being charged with a traffic violation, a bond will be required for the violation at that time. Bond may be your driver’s license, bail bond card or cash. Checks, credit or debit cards are not accepted.

Receiving Instructions

The instructions for payment by mail or application for court supervision will be given to you at the time the ticket is issued. These instructions can also be obtained by contacting any Police Department in DuPage County.

Payment for a traffic offense is made to the "Clerk of the Circuit Court of DuPage County" - not the Lisle Police Department.

These hearings take place on Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. A notice will be mailed to you by the Circuit Court Clerk indicating your assigned court date.

Child Restraint Laws

All children under the age of 8 years must be secured in an appropriate child restraint system while in a vehicle. The parent or legal guardian of a child 8 years old or younger, must provide a child restraint system to any person who transports his or her child. Every person, when transporting anyone under the age of 16, is responsible for properly securing that child in seat belts. When a child is in a vehicle, please make sure that the safety seat meets U.S. Department of Transportation standards. The penalty for violating the Child Passenger Protection Act is a traffic citation.
