Public Act 97-0609 (Compensation Information for Elected Officials and Staff)
Became law January 1, 2012; amends the Open Meetings Act and the Illinois Pension Code, establishing new laws for public bodies, including:
All IMRF employers must post, within six days of an approved budget, the total compensation package for each employee that exceeds $75,000 per year. Any IMRF employer that approves an employee's total compensation package equal to or in excess of $150,000 per year must post on its website, at least six days before the approval, the total compensation package for that employee. Total compensation includes salary, health insurance, housing and vehicle allowances, bonuses, loans, vacation and sick days granted.
